The Black Coffee Theory- Why Life Keeps Giving Us What We Fear
Asked for an Iced Mocha — Life Gave Me Black Coffee Every Time
I think the fielding of shit hitting the ceiling and life turning on me has completely decided to churn my agony into an everyday miracle of things going against my very psyche. And at this point I think the matter is out of my hands, into the spiral of unknown sparse of the universe that I right now I am questioning whether is it in my favour or not, like the giant spectrum of the collective we live in is conspiring against every endeavour I undertake and I am not sure how much longer I can keep up the relentless brim of optimism of how everything is fine and will turn out to be fine.
The 3 A.M. Mirror Moments We Don’t Talk About
Life is so cooked that I do not even know what the next day would bring, and honestly, I do not want to know either. I have tried every ounce of my luck to find certainty in the realm of this uncertain quest of existence, to hold onto hope, to embrace the beauty of the setting sun and adorn the somberness of the moon adorned in the midnight sky. I have tried my best to sustain this tireless stride of our mortal bane with a smile on my face, but I can no longer help but succumb to the pressures of fear, comparison and self-doubt. And let me tell you, finding yourself awake at 3 a.m., staring at the bareness of your reflection in the mirror and wondering what life holds for you, is definitely not pretty and cannot be romanticised, although I tried my best, but couldn’t.
I remember wanting something so badly that every time it did not happen, it would mess with my mental health. It was like ordering an iced mocha but getting served black coffee every time. I am not sure why the contrast of my wishes always presents itself. It was not until I came across this theory that it all started to make sense. As I browsed the internet, I came across a theory called the Black Coffee Theory, and it somehow healed a small part of me inside. The Black Coffee Theory suggests that the universe will always mirror the thoughts that consume most of your daily life.
Think of it as you going into a cafe and the waiter asking you what you want, and you are confused and say I definitely do not want black coffee and he asks, so what do you want and you repeat the same line over and over again until he leaves you to decide, and he goes and checks on the other customers. And as he gets busy with his routine, he forgets about your order, and then suddenly it strikes him that your order is pending. The reminiscence of what he had to serve completely escapes his mind because of the lack of calrity and the only thing he remembers is black coffee, and then, as we can guess, he serves you black coffee, one thing that you desperately did not want, but it consumed so much of your being that it mirrored into your reality.
Learning to Ask the Universe for What I Truly Want
This is how most of us stride through our lives. We keep reiterating to the universe what we do not want. What we fear the most, what we want to avoid, what we do not want to be, what we want to run away from with everything in our power. As we keep ruminating on the worst-case scenarios, the universe matches the energy and delivers things we do not want to happen. That is not to say that our thoughts that hold our deepest fears will become our reality; it will simply make our perception of things negative, and as a result, every event that occurs in our lives will always feel negative and turned against us in our favour.
And as a serial overhtinker I know how difficult it is stop spiralling from these thoughts when the world tries to bleed us dry. But here is the thing that changed my perspective: that to live our dream life and have everything we desire, we do not need to think only positive thoughts all the time. We can still achieve our desires and manifest our reality, even when we are not okay; we just need to stop letting our fears and limitations hold us back. As the black coffee theory suggests, you need to be super specific about what you want to achieve, so even when things do not go your away and you feel the deepest pits of sadness, you do not need to run away from them. Rather, you need to accept them, feel them, reflect over its lessons and remind yourself of where you want to go, who you want to be and what truly makes you happy.
Embracing the black coffee theory is simple: have a vision of who you want to be and hold it so close to your heart that no matter how many derails, dejections, rejections, and heartbreaks cross your path, nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. As long as you keep telling the universe you want your visionary iced mocha latte to be served, it will give you exactly that, no matter how many times you cry about how you do not want black coffee in its hind.
Dreamers dont you dare quit, as we embrace the beauty of new starts,
Keep going, as the universe always falls in love with a brave heart.
